Swarming Carpenter Ants Invade House

The power of technology! I am in the field doing a Carpenter Ant treatment at a home and all of a sudden the Carpenter Ants start swarming. I grab my smart phone & take a picture. They were swarming in this area because it had a moisture leak around the door frame and this is a primary area for interior carpenter ant satellite colonies. I could see it was an active area even without the swarmers because there was a graveyard on the ground. A graveyard is where the ants push out dead ants, frass (sawdust), and other debris into a pile. This usually indicates that there is a nest nearby.

You can learn about all this stuff in training, a seminar, or a book but nothing compares to seeing it actually happen live and in person!
