Urban Bird Control

27 Jan 2012

What you see here is just a real bad installation of bird "spikes" in a commercial parking garage. The maintenance department of this company spent thousands of dollars on product alone trying to exclude birds in their parking garage on to fail miserably. It also looks horrible! They spent thousands of dollars more in labor to install the failed products and countless hours in labor for routine cleaning. This put workers at risk for disease from the pigeon droppings and their liability was through the roof!

Most people think an owl or “spike” will solve all bird issues but that is never the case. You must always determine the bird pressure and observe their behavior. This is looking at a problem holistically (entire or big picture) in order to provide a successful bird proofing service. EHS solved this issue permanently and it is a reason why we are considered an industry leader at urban bird control.

A picture is worth a thousand words so here are 2,000 words! As you can see when it comes to urban bird control, there is no job that EHS can not handle! The problem with pest birds is that people think they can solve the problem on their own by putting out a plastic owl, bird gel, or bird spikes. It always fails and then they call for professional help.

What people do not realize is that bird droppings may have as much as 25 diseases associated with them! Pest birds can put your business at risk (damage, liability, public image, etc.), EHS will protect your investment with professional bird control.

I wanted to show you a “birds eye view” of what a professional netting job looks like when it is done by EHS. You can’t even tell this was netted off to exclude pigeons, sparrows, and starlings. This parking garage for a government office was infested with pest birds.

They spent thousands of thousands of dollars on products that failed to solve the problem. They spent MUCH MUCH more on the labor to power wash and clean all the droppings! This of course was a big safety issue for employees.

They called EHS and despite them doubting this would ever be solved we proved to them that it could be done expertly! Just more proof that when you have pest birds you need to call the leader in urban bird control, EHS!

Before and After Bird Job

Take a look at the amazing quality of work we do for birds. These ledges on a building 3-6 stories high have had pigeons infesting them for over a decade. Look at the accumulation of bird poop plus staining of the concrete. The acid in the droppings will destroy just about anything over time. They even made attempts to solve the issue on their own as you can see the chicken wire did not work.

We installed a ledge deterrent system plus fabricated our own and even painted some black to match the building. The product is installed at a 45 degree slope so birds literally slide off when they try to land. It is invisible & permanent and we solved a decade plus bird issue. The client raved about the results because it worked, looked great, and saved them countless resources as they no longer had to dedicate labor to routine cleaning of the droppings.
