GOT MICE? ADD A DASH OF NUTMEG…… (SOMERVILLE, MA)
The house mouse
has the Latin name Mus musculous which means “little thief”. That is about as fitting a name as it gets! Mice will explore their environment over 200 times per night. What this means is while your home or business is quiet (usually nighttime) the little thief AKA mice check out their environment to the point that they know every square inch. In the process of these few hundred trips they steal little bits of food and nesting materials. Don’t believe me? Take a look at the attached photo and see how mice surgically removed the bottom of this nutmeg container and wiped out 100% of the spice!
In addition to the damage mice cause they also contaminate food areas with their fecal matter and urine. No matter if you have a minor mouse problem the damage and disease risks are quite high.
