In the fall with winter approaching many insects seek shelter in homes & businesses. WHY??? Most insects survive quite well in warm to hot temperatures that we have from spring through summer into fall. When temperatures start to cool pests go to where they find warmth and that is structures. Even is structures are not heated (not cold enough to turn on heat yet) our buildings emit thermal warmth. Wall voids, ceiling voids, exterior siding & shingles all provide thermal pockets of warm air laden with humidity. This is exactly what pests want or need so they seek it out.

The changing seasons are always trigger point for insects and mice to seek shelter from the colder weather. Insects do not need much more than a crack in your foundation to get in, an unscreened vent, a slim void around a wind, gaps in siding, & doors without sweeps. What about mice? All they need is a void the size of a dime! Insects have an incredible ability to survive and adapt. At EHS we know about pest biology & behavior and are experts at performing chemical free structural exclusion to your home or business.
