The General Manager was apologetic, but we explained, no need to worry, fixing this situation will save them money in the long run and greatly help with their condition. After all, Sanitation is Pest Management! We like helping restaurants and it shows!

EHS can Solve any Wildlife Situation - North End, Boston

08 May 2013

EHS service specialists were excluding a clients building by cementing openings and screening vents and a mulch bed for mice and rats in Boston's old and famous North End we came across a famous wild all American bird, the Wild Turkey! It's fitting that she was walking the historic Freedom Trail, Benjamin Franklin lobbied unsuccessfully to have this wise and versatile foul to be America's symbol.

It after all, sustained the easily settlers and native Americans in both wild and domesticated forms for centuries. She seemed content to strut among curious passers by near Boston's Paul Revere historical home, she joins our staff at EHS as proud Americans! We like native animals and it shows.

'Stoner Mice' Eat Marijuana Evidence at Kansas Police Storage Facility

26 Feb 2013

Hey, vermin, don't bogart that evidence!

Wichita police in Kansas are hot on the tail of mice that chewed through bags of marijuana kept in a police storage facility, KMBC reported. The three packages were evidence seized during arrests in 2009.

The rodents apparently nested in the pot and ate some of it. "We've got some mice that are stoners," Police Lt. Doug Nolte said on Thursday. The animals were probably attracted to the scent, he added.

At first look, authorities thought the evidence was tampered with, but some super-sleuthing revealed "that the culprits were operating on a much smaller scale," quipped The Inquisitr.

Still, officials adhered to protocol, photographing the scene, resealing the stash and reweighing it, Nolte told KSN.

The mice remain at large but a precinct artist did produce a sketch of one of the suspects with big ears, little beady eyes and a long tail (see above).

No drawn-out investigation or jury trial will be necessary. An exterminator has been called.

Mice In Restaurants

How clean is the restaurant you eat in? What you don’t know can hurt you! Having inferior pest control service in a restaurant is risky to the business health of the establishment but the true physical health of the general public. The attached image show you a restaurant that EHS took over because the previous company was not solving the mice issue. We at EHS take this protection & responsibility VERY seriously! When you need a commercial pest service provided you do not have to look any further than EHS!

Yosemite Officials: 1,700 Visitors Potentially Exposed to Hantavirus

RODENTS & MICE

Visitors who stayed in some of the dwellings in June, July and August, may have been exposed to the disease that also caused two other people to fall ill.

The rustic tent cabins of Yosemite National Park have become the scene of a public health crisis after two visitors died from a rodent-borne disease following overnight stays.

On Tuesday, park officials sent letters and emails to 1,700 visitors who stayed in some of the dwellings in June, July and August, warning them that they may have been exposed to the disease that also caused two other people to fall ill.

Those four people contracted hantavirus pulmonary syndrome after spending time in one of the 91 “Signature Tent Cabins” at Curry Village around the same time in June. The illness is spread by contact with rodent feces, urine and saliva, or by inhaling exposed airborne particles.

After the first death, the park sanitized the cabins and alerted the public through the media that the cause might have been diseased mice in the park.

However, officials did not know for sure the death was linked to Yosemite or the campsite until the Centers for Disease Control determined over the weekend that a second visitor, a resident of Pennsylvania, also had died.

Rodents blamed for House Fire

28 Dec 2012

RODENTS are being blamed for starting a fire at a house in Wakefield in the early hours of the morning.

It is believed mice gnawed through wiring, causing a small fire at a house in a small English town called Netherton.

Crews from Ossett Fire Station were alerted to the blaze at the property in Netherton Hall Gardens shortly after 3am this morning.

Watch commander Richard Humes said: “It is not something you get everyday. I think we can logically put the cause down to mice as there were droppings found nearby.”

The exposed wires caused boxes to smoulder in a utility room, filling the property with smoke and waking the owners.

Mice in School Upset Students, Parents

26 Dec 2012

A CBS 6 Facebook friend contacted the station worried about intruders at her child’s school. She wasn’t talking about thugs or drug dealers; rather, she said John Marshall High School is infested with mice.

She even sent pictures taken during the school day. An exterminator said it’s that time of year when rodents begin to move inside to escape colder weather.

Students complained the mice are becoming a distraction during the day. Parent Yvette Dansby told CBS 6 her daughter doesn’t want to go to school.

“They’re coming out all day long, running across the floor, they’re coming out of computers, they’re coming out of the gym,” Dansby said.

Students snapped two pictures of two dead mice last week on the gymnasium floor.

Dansby said a teacher at the school killed one Wednesday.

“Stepped on it like a bug and killed it,” she said.

School officials told CBS 6, by phone, that they are aware of the mice and an exterminator recently responded to the school to set traps and get rid of them.

Pest control experts said it’s not surprising this time of year, and added the mice are seeking warmth and looking for food.

Parents said it’s unacceptable.

“Get them out of the school it’s not a place for them,” said Dansby.

Richmond City Councilman Chris Hilbert said he couldn’t agree more. He said he was unaware of the multiple mice sightings until we contacted him.

Hilbert called the school’s principal, who reassured him an exterminator has been on site and set traps.

“We need rodent traps and get them out of the building regardless of how old it is,” Hilbert said. “It’s something that cannot be tolerated, we need to get to it and get to it now. Our kids deserve a safe, clean area and that appears not to be happening, so we need to do better for them and I’ll do what I can to make it happen,” he added.
