Natick, MA - I have been in the industry for over 10yrs and I am skeptical by nature. Basically I need solid proof that something works before I buy into it, both in business + my personal life. I am not shy about this character trait and have no problem voicing my concerns. This winter EHS decided to use termite monitors (TM-1) as a FREE offering for customers that purchased a carpenter ant treatment or a Homerowner Protection Plan (all pests). I figured that while they looked good I was doubtfull that they would effectively monitor for termites. I mean, on a property termites have so many choices to feed on why would they choose these monitors that are small in comparison to other choices. I discussed this with our staff entomologist who assured me they would work because they create a thermal shadow, trap moisture & humidity, and provided direct wood-soil contact. That explanition plus the fact that EHS management really evalutes products & programs in detail before they offer it to customers was enough of a reason for me to trust them. But still I wanted visual proof. I started seeing that in the field within the first few months of the TM-1's being installed. As we visit a home we are required to check the monitors for activity. I found termites in many of them! This is a GREAT offering to consumers because termites are very sneaky and often go undetected in a home, sometimes for years causing extensive damage in the process. These EHS TM-1 monitors act like an alarm system for termites, they detect activity BEFORE they get into your home. The proof is in the pudding, this is a great tool that gives customers additional protection for their homes. Better yet it is Spike approved!
